September 2015 we traveled to Miami, FL to watch the Braves battle the Marlins. We are both fully aware our teams are terrible… he’s a Marlins fan, I’ve been a Braves fan since growing up in Atlanta. The Marlins last won the World Series in 2003… my lousy Braves haven’t won since 1995. Some of my coworkers were in diapers last time they won. Alas, neither of us are fair weather fans, even though we curse them both on a yearly basis.
Back to the story… we flew to Miami to watch them fight it out. There was very little fighting. My team sucked more. To prove that point, the scores of the three games are as follows:
September 25th: 12/11
September 26th: 6/2
September 27th: 9/5
Don’t you worry, the Braves are the second number each time. They were ahead for most of the first game, but in typical Braves fashion, they choked in the end. Baseball failures aside, the trip was still fun. We lounged on the beach, strolled through the streets, and enjoyed some yummy food.
My other half made arrangements for a nice night out during our trip. We cabbed to… RED. THE Steakhouse. Twas delicious. Steak… wine… wonderful. We opted to walk back to the hotel after our meal. Seeing as I was wearing heels, that was probably not the best decision ever. A minimum of 22 blocks later…
I have learned over the last almost two years, that my goofy other half cannot go to the beach without enjoying pina coladas. I swear he’s actually a dude.
Thanks for having us, Miami. I’m sure we’ll be back again to watch my baseball team lose.
